How to search for candidacies

This page allows you to search for candidacies listed on the Online Placement site by specifying certain criteria.

How to access the “Search for candidacies” page

You do not have to be registered with Online Placement to search for candidacies. However, the results may differ in terms of access to the detailed information provided for each of the candidacies found, depending on whether you are registered with a valid user ID and password at the time the search is carried out.

There are different ways to search for candidacies:

The “Search for candidacies” page

The search pages allow you to search for candidacies using different methods.

The first method is to perform a general search by specifying a criterion in each of the two mandatory sections.

“Candidacies sought” section. Choose the type of candidacies you will be searching for by clicking on one of the following radio buttons:

“Regions” section. Select the desired region (you cannot search for more than one at a time).

The second method is to perform a specific search by specifying an optional criterion, which may be used in conjunction with any of the options in the mandatory sections.

“Optional criteria” section. Select one of the following criteria.

The third method, reserved exclusively for employers who have a valid user ID and password at the time the operation is carried out, is to search for a specific candidacy number. The mandatory search criteria for the above search methods do not apply for this method.

“Candidacy number” section. If you know the number of the candidacy or the student candidacy, enter it in the appropriate field.

The buttons on the “Search for candidacies” page

The “Search” button: once you have specified the required criteria on this page, click on "Search" to launch the search process.

The “Cancel” button: allows employers who do not have a valid user ID and password at the time the operation is carried out to cancel their search and brings them back to the "Employer" home page.

For employers who do have a valid user ID and password at the time the operation is carried out, this button brings you back to the "Your file" page, under the "Your job offers" tab.

The “Quit” button: brings you back to the "Employer" home page.

How to specify the optional criteria on the second search page

This second search page allows you to provide additional information about the optional criteria "Job title" or "Field of the job" when one of them has been selected on the previous page. You can also refine your search by specifying other criteria.

However, you are not obliged to use new search criteria if the ones already specified are deemed adequate.

“JOB TITLE” PAGE

Use of the optional criterion "Job title" allows you to search for candidacies based solely on the job title entered.

In the “Job title” section, you must choose the appropriate name of the job.

To do so, enter one or more keywords or parts of keywords in the appropriate field. Click on "Show list of job names", and the list will appear below. Click on the job name you are looking for. You can also obtain further information on this occupation and the labour market by clicking on the "IMT en ligne" (LMI Online) hyperlink underneath. If the job names that appear are not what you are looking for, you can modify the keywords entered and click on "Show list of job names" to update the list.

You may specify the following criteria in the “Other criteria” section:

Once you have specified the desired criteria on this page, clicking on this button will display the list of candidacies found by bringing you to the "Candidacies found" page.

The “Previous page” button: brings you back to the "Search for candidacies" page, which displays the criteria already entered so you can modify them as needed.

The “Quit” button: brings you back to the "Employer" home page.

“FIELD OF THE JOB” PAGE

Use of the optional criterion "Field of the job" allows you to search for candidacies based solely on the job field entered.

In the “Field of the job” section, select one out of the fifteen available job fields.

Clicking on the hyperlink that corresponds to a particular job field will bring you to a page giving examples of jobs in this field. Select the job field by clicking on the corresponding radio button.

This search page also allows you to refine your search by using one or more keywords or parts of keywords as well as other search criteria.

In the “Keyword(s)” section, enter one or more keywords at least four letters long (e.g. "mana" for "manager").

You may specify the following criteria in the “Other criteria” section:

Once you have specified the desired criteria on this page, clicking on this button will display the list of candidacies found by bringing you to the "Candidacies found" page.

The “Previous page” button: brings you back to the "Search for candidacies" page, which displays the criteria already entered so you can modify them as needed.

The “Quit” button: brings you back to the "Employer" home page.

The “Candidacies found” page

This page displays your search results.

The first section of this page shows the criteria you used for your search and the total number of candidacies that correspond thereto.

Clicking on the “Display all candidacies” button in this section will bring you to the "Candidacies found - Descriptive list of candidacies" page, which displays all the candidacies or student candidacies that correspond to the specified search criteria.

The “Candidacies found - Descriptive list of candidacies” page

This page displays the list of candidacies found and the details for each one.

The first section of this page shows the criteria you used for your search and the total number of candidacies that correspond thereto.

The “Descriptive list of candidacies” section provides details on the candidacies found.

This list can be sorted according to the following categories on the scroll-down menu:

For each of the candidacies in the list, the following details are provided:

Once an employer has entered his or her user ID and password, he or she can display a specific candidacy and access the detailed information thereon by clicking on the corresponding job name or job field.

The buttons on the “Candidacies found - Descriptive list of candidacies” page

The “Search again” button: brings you back to the "Search for candidacies" page so you can perform another search. However, this page will not display the criteria previously entered.

The “Previous page” button: brings you back to "Candidacies found" page.

The “Quit” button: brings you back to the "Employer" home page.
