How to register a job offer

Registering your job offer makes it accessible, once it is listed, to all job seekers registered with Online Placement.

You can create a job offer without completing all of the mandatory fields. In this case, the offer will be considered as incomplete. Certain actions will not be possible until all of the mandatory fields have been completed and the offer has been registered.

How to access the “Record your job offer” page

To register a job offer, you must first be registered with the Online Placement site. Go to the "Your file" page and click on "Enter a new offer". You must indicate whether you are offering regular or student employment by selecting the appropriate radio button. Next, look for a job name on the "Record your job offer" page.

Look for a job name

In the "Job to fill" section, enter one or more keywords in the appropriate field. Click on "Search" and a list of job names will appear. Select the name of the job you are offering and click to register it. You can also obtain further information on this occupation and the labour market by clicking on the "IMT en ligne" (LMI Online) hyperlink underneath. If the job names that appear are not what you are looking for, just type in a new keyword and click on "Search" to update the list. Once you have selected the name of the job you are offering, click on "Continue". This will bring you to the "Registration of a job offer" page.

Enter the data on the “Registration of a job offer” page

To enter the data on this page, fill out the sections "Name of the job", "Work place", "Main functions", "Salary and other working conditions", "Requirements", "Contact", "Communication", and "Recall", making sure to complete all mandatory fields (marked with a red asterisk). Then click on "List", "Save", "Display", "French Version", "Cancel", or "Quit". A job offer is accessible to applicants only if it is listed.

In the “Name of the job” section, you must enter the name of the job you are offering and indicate the characteristics used to identify the job offer for file management purposes, including the in-house job name or reference code and the number of positions to fill.

In the “Work place” section, you must specify the address of the workplace (which may be different from that of the employer) and, where applicable, indicate whether the workplace territory covers more than one region.

In the “Main functions” section, you must provide a clear job description. The accuracy of the information given about the duties to be carried out will enable job seekers to better evaluate their interest in the position and their qualifications for the job.

In the “Salary and other working conditions” section, you must specify the salary offered and the terms of recruitment.

In the “Requirements” section, you must specify the education level, language proficiency and qualifications required of the applicants, including any professional qualifications recognized outside the education or university network. To choose the diploma you want, remember that persons who hold a Secondary School Vocational Diploma:

In the “Contact” section, you must indicate the name of the person to be contacted and the address and telephone number applicants should use if they would like more information about the job offer. This contact person is designated specifically to provide information about the job offer, and thus does not have to be the same contact person named in the employer’s file.

The “Communication” section tells job seekers how they can contact the employer and submit their candidacies. In addition, by checking this box, you can specify the categories of workers you encourage to apply. When the job offer is for a student position in the Québec public service, this section is not displayed.
